The Greene County Rams won both the girls and the boys varsity basketball games against Colfax-Mingo Tuesday night in Jefferson.
The girls team won 65-34. Kayla Mobley led the team in scoring with 16 points, and Hannah Onken was close behind with 14. All 11 Rams who played scored at least one point.
“This was a fun game to watch,” coach Chad Morton said. “I thought our girls were really aggressive. All 11 players that played score. I don’t remember too many times were we have had all the players score and I don’t think we have had 11 girls score in one game before. I was very happy with our efforts.”
The boys held on to win 56-50 after Colfax-Mingo came from behind to within two points with only a minute to play in the game. Freshman Trey Tucker led all scorers with 20 points.
The girls are now 3-1 overall and in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference. The boys are 1-2 overall and in the HOIAC.
